I got this tattoo in December 2004 in Philadelphia, where I go to school. On my body, the tattoo is in my front hip region. The Smashing Pumpkins have been my favorite band since I was in grade school, and getting this tattoo was something that Ive thought about for a few years. I wanted something very simple that only hardcore fans would be able to recognize as something SP related, plus I have always liked their heart logo. This was my very first tattoo, and the whole ordeal took five minutes tops. However the pain was pretty intense. It felt like a scalpel being drug deep across my skin very slowly. From other people I have spoken to, the outline process of getting a tattoo is the worst. It was definitely worth it to me though, and I love how it turned out.
